My name is Suzanne Nguyen and I am a creative entrepreneur as well as a story collector. I was really excited when I saw this opportunity to be the Connection Catalyst at Hub Sydney. I am an optimistic person, a strong communicator and a good listener. I believe that my skills and experience in customer relations, event management and creative background make me an excellent candidate for this position.
As a story collector I have been gathering stories for the past year. Recently I have started a new project called “a dollar a story” where I collect memory maps from the individual and then give them a dollar for sharing their story with me. I am doing this because I believe every story has value and it is also my way of thanking people for sharing their experiences with me. By being outgoing, approachable and relatable, I have engaged in many an interesting conversation and along the way I have discovered many interesting insights. I have enjoyed discovering what people’s interests are and learning about drives and motivates them to do what they love.
I have run a successful exhibition of my own and grown my network, by actively making my presence known through the various social media platforms. The main feature at my recent exhibition was an interactive map of Melbourne. I encouraged people to engage with the map, by asking them to write down their memories or experiences in Melbourne and pin it onto the board. Overall the exhibition was a huge success and people went away having had a positive experience.
